IRDB is a database for materials stored in institutional repositories in Japan. Those that can be searched include articles published in departmental memoires and journals, dissertations and theses, and digitised rare books stored by individual institutions. This database is useful to search for materials other than articles: i.e., collections that are not provided through their own interface.

The Wooden Tablet Character Dictionary is a compilation of Chinese characters written on wooden tablets that were unearthed in Japan. Wooden tablets were used for general purposes from early civilisation to the tenth century. Since these characters are certainly different from the modern standard, such a compilation benefits not only reading wooden tablets but also understanding of the history of Chinese characters in Japan and the Sinosphere.
