The Center for Japanese Studies, University of California, Berkeley is a center for teaching and research. The centre brings together faculties from various departments in the humanities and social sciences. The university’s CV Starr East Asian Library houses the largest collection on Japanese books outside of Japan. It holds the Mitsui Collection in its core of rare books; its map collection is specially digitised.
